Car Maintenance Schedule

Car Mechanic Checklist

When you purchase a new or used car in Shiloh, there’s actually a lot to keep track of as your vehicle gets older and older. If you want your Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram vehicle to perform for years on end Belleville and Smithton roads, the best way to ensure this is by keeping up with a routine car maintenance schedule.

Didn’t know there was a regular schedule you should follow? Well, let the experts at Auffenberg CDJR walk you through the various stages at which you should have your vehicle maintenance done.

Every Month

To start, here are some easy car maintenance items you can check up on every month:

  • Check tire pressure and tread
  • Clean the interior and exterior
  • Check to see if the check engine light is on
  • Make sure windshield wiper fluid is filled
  • Make sure all the interior and exterior lights work

Every 3,000 Miles or Three Months

When your vehicle reaches another 3,000 miles, or after three months-time, be sure to have it checked for:

  • Belts, exhaust, and hoses
  • Engine oil and air filter
  • Tire pressure, tread and wear and tear
  • Automatic transmission, power steering, wiper fluid levels
  • Fuel filter
  • All lights inside and out

Every 6,000 Miles of Six Months

On top of the maintenance checks you should perform every one and three months, be sure to keep up with these additional maintenances:

  • Chassis lubrication
  • Car battery and cables
  • Polish your vehicle
  • Windshield wipers

Every 12,000 Miles or 12 Months

Every 365 days, be sure you’re having your vehicle checked out for these additional maintenances:

Why Follow a Car Maintenance Schedule?

Our cars, trucks, and SUVs are incredibly intricate machines that require routine maintenance in order to work at their best capacity for years to come. While it would be nice to buy a car and not have to worry about things such as regular maintenance, that just isn’t the case.

If you don’t have your vehicle maintained on a regular basis, then you risk running into worse and more expensive problems for your vehicle in the future. So, this means that following a car maintenance schedule not only saves your car itself, but it will save you money in the long run as well.
