Who doesn’t love the RAM 1500? This workhorse can tow up to 12,750 pounds, and has a maximum payload of 2,100 pounds. It also comes in six trim levels, making it easy to find the truck you need. It boasts best in class fuel efficiency and a one-of-a-kind multifunction tailgate that can both swing down and swing sideways in a 60/40 split. And don’t forget the RAMbox feature that offers extra storage in the wall of the bed. No wonder this truck is so popular in Belleville. But which cab do you choose: Quad Cab vs. Crew Cab? Auffenberg CDJR is here to help.
Both the Crew Crab and the Quad Cab offer a second row of seats that, combined with the front row, provide seating for six. Both cabs also feature rear doors with exterior door handles that open the same direction as the front doors.
However, the Crew Cab offers more room for the rear seat passengers than the Quad Cab. The Crew cab offers 45.2 inches of legroom for its rear seat passengers, compared to 35.6 inches for the Quad Cab.
Since the Crew Cab is longer, it comes in two bed or box size options, which also determine the overall length of the truck. You can choose the 6’4” box that results in an overall vehicle length of 241.8″ inches, or the 5’7” box with an overall truck length of 232.9 inches (a popular combination of options with Smithton drivers). The Quad Cab, on the other hand, comes only with the 6’4” box option, with an overall length of 228.9 inches.
